Maritess Zurbano has been a practicing magician for 21 years, has competed internationally and performs around the world. Her magic plays have been produced at The New York International Fringe Festival and was developed at the New York Public Theater. Her short stories are published in The Chicago Reader, The Crab Creek Review and Maganda Magazine. She is a contributor to Magic Magazine and The Seattle Times and has been profiled by Newsday, Lifetime Television and the BBC. Her literary awards include a 2010 Washington State Artist Trust Grant and a 2011 Jack Straw Fellowship.
